    Bonnie Moore develops original recipes especially for FoodFit that reflect seasonal ingredients and menus that are delicious, balanced and healthy. FoodFit uses the Food Guide Pyramid, with an emphasis on fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, a moderate amount of protein, and a lowered use of fats and sweets, as a model for a healthy diet. ingredients

Most FoodFit Original recipes get no more than 30% of their calories from fat, no more than 10% from saturated fat and contain a minimal amount of sodium. FoodFit believes in a balanced approach to eating for life and has included special occasion foods for you to occasionally splurge with when you are celebrating with friends and family. Sometimes a particular recipe may have a higher percentage of fat because the calories are quite low (like a salad) or (as in the case of vinaigrettes), they consist mostly of fat and are to be used in your meals sparingly.

As you search through the recipe files for delicious healthy meals, you can ask Bonnie questions about cooking tips and techniques.


FoodFit has also gathered more than 100 of the nations' top chefs to support FoodFit's mission and contribute additional recipes for your enjoyment.

Like most everything at FoodFit, our recipes can be tailored to your individual needs — and tastes. Not only are they delicious, but we also took time to make sure they're balanced and healthy.

  • Our recipes teach techniques to help you update favorite dishes with your health and waistline in mind.
  • Each recipe is flagged with helpful icons relating to your personal FoodFit Profile. This will help you make better decisions about what you eat.
  • FoodFit recipes give you options to feed as many as you decide, meet specific dietary needs, solve time constraints and use foods in season.
  • You'll grow familiar with how certain ingredients work together. Before long, you may let go of recipes altogether in favor of creating meals with your own personal touch. At the very least, we hope many of our recipes will become family favorites.

    About Bonnie Moore

    Bonnie Moore, FoodFit's Executive Chef, graduated from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in Math and Statistics before forsaking her calculator for a whisk. Bonnie earned an associate degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University and a degree in pastry arts from L'Academie de Cuisine. She is the former sous chef at the Inn at Little Washington, the only five-star, five-diamond kitchen in the United States, and a former chef-instructor in the professional program at L'Academie de Cuisine in Maryland. Bonnie likes to be involved with food at every stage; from planting seeds at the farm to creating a meal for her family. She believes that there is no better place to foster community and nourish those you love than around a table piled with delicious food.
