Posted - 08/25/2005 : 2:39:21 PM I don't know about you guys, but my butt is planted in the chair most of the work day (and when I do both jobs, that is a whopping 12 hours of mostly sitting).
What do you do to get up and move around now and again?
Sometimes I use the bathroom upstairs on the 2nd floor instead of the 1st floor where my office is. Other than that, I don't do very much consciously to move around. Of course, I do make the normal trips to the copy machine, fax machine, etc. But that is really about it.

Posted - 08/25/2005 : 6:20:23 PM I have heard a recommendation (that I dont always stick to, honestly) that one should get up and move at least 5-10 minutes every hour. maybe that's just refreshing your glass of water, or whatever. but it's movement. it's something.
I try to find excuses to get up and moving -in my job, I can for intance arrange on-site interviews rather than phoners, etc. but still spend ages sitting on my can.
