Dear all,

I've been cross-training for surfing by push-ups, crunches, weight-lifting, swimming...I think that's all...plus jogging and walking. I've included a diet that is a maximum of 2000 calories subtracting the amount of calories i burn from whatever activity I do. I include lots of veggies, water, take a multi-vitamin. It's all been going great. I feel pretty healthy. However, I have a question if anyone can answer it!!! Normally, my period doesn't phase me. It's no big deal I just have to remember tampons. This time and while I'm living my healthy lifestyle...I have cramps like I haven't had in a while. Does anyone know the cause?

Hi Imalicia!

First of all it's always a good idea to see your doctor when you experience extra painful cramps.

It's really hard to pinpoint what the "cause" can be for painful menstruation. There can be an actualy physical cause or it can just simply be that your body may be lacking in something. Normally, increased exercise helps keep cramps at a minimum. I think you can take some extra magnesium and perhaps eat some foods high in potassium before/during your period.

So, see you doctor first! Let us know how it goes!

2x4 was here, but now she's gone. She left this post to carry on...
