Harley, sorry about your news and I hope you can hold off having surgery. That really sounds like the pits. You don't strike me as the type to sit back, take it easy. So it could be tough for you.

So sorry about your cat. Wonder if it was a bobcat that did that. Sounds horrible. The goats sound adorable. I love hearing about all your animals.

Jenjs, 29!! Sure isn't that cool here. We are finally getting some much needed rain. Everything is dead - grass, flowers. I haven't had luck with things this year. Stormed last night. I woke up, but immediately fell back asleep. It wasn't a bad storm, just a 'storm'. It's been raining since then and we need it.

So those little ones are sure keeping you on your toes. I couldn't do it anymore. Maybe years ago, but it would wear me out now.

Been busy at work, busy at home. The little is in kindergarten. That means evenings are taken with playing outside - for now anyway - dinner, bath, homework, bed. Homework in K. Unbelievable. She's like a little sponge too. I heard her mom working on homework with her last night and it amazed me. She's into phonetics already. Of course, when I went and my kids went to K it was only a half day too. That sure changed years ago.

Have a great week.

Ok harley, be gettin in here & checkin in, let us know how things are goin. How ya feeling lately?

Last night it got to 25, got the heater kicked on already, crappers. I hate that it had to get on already. Not a good sign at all. It's calling for high 70s tho for the weekend so yay for that!! Only 58 for today, bit nippy. Cripes, that's November weather. Right now it's only 48 as I type, can you believe it???

Looks like come after the holidays I'll be watching a 4 1/2 month old too. It's tough to find daycare around here from the sounds of it. They stopped by this morning to meet & she's a little doll, head full of dark hair & big blue eyes, a cutie. I have the other 2 until May anyways, so that'll work out just fine. Besides, I love watching babies. Will be interesting with the other 2 tho, they got pretty quiet when they came in to visit, so they may calm down a bit.

I love having the kids around, they're fun. I'll really like having the baby, that's my weakness there. Who doesn't like babies? Except for that one gal from Florida...I think she did kill her poor little one, such a cutie. What makes people do things like that is beyond me.

You know, talking about homework for kindergarten. I remember having to bring home stuff to do for kindergarten & that was umpteen years ago, it was a half day back then. Is it a whole day now?? When youngest went it was a half day but they had a program where the other half was like a daycare they could stay at IF parents wanted, they'd have lunch & then a rest/nap. I loved the school, it was a charter school & he wore a "uniform", it was khakis & either a white or navy polo shirt. He looked so handsome for a kindergartner!

Here we are to Wednesday....half way there!!

Harley, always good to see ya here! That rain really does a number on joints. Cripes, ya had to bring up Christmas already?!! What glassware does your mom save? I have my gramas Fiestaware & I always look for that at yard sales & stuff like that. Seems like they try to overprice it even there! I have the folks' Currier & Ives dishes too, a whole bunch of em too. But I like the Fiesta so that's what we use.

It was gorgeous this AM but now it's cloudy & it's supposed to rain tonite & thru tomorrow. I have the baby tomorrow & Weds, maybe the rest of the week too, not exact yet. But by the weekend we may see even high 70s, so who the heck knows! It's always so screwy around here.

Hope all have a great week....

I had a long post typed. Clicked 'Submit Reply' and lost it. Got an 'error' message. Believe me. I had several 'choice words' to say about that.

Harley, sorry the rehab didn't help much. I sure understand avoiding knee replacement surgery though. Yuck.

Jenjs, good for you for getting a baby too. Getting paid to do what you love is a great thing. Lucky kids, lucky parents to have found you.

Harley, sounds like you got some good bargains and a start on Christmas. Don't you love it? I love finding bargains like that. And the perfect gift no less.

Jenjs, I like Fiesta too. I have a few pieces of Currier & Ives myself. I also have a meat platter that my grandmother gave me. It's over 100 yearsold. Her mother gave it to her for a wedding gift, brought it here from Germany.

The little one is in K and it's all day now. She still loves it. She has reading class, science class, all kinds of subjects that I certainly didn't have in K. My kids went to a private school and wore uniforms too. Made getting ready for school a piece of cake!

Since this is my second post, I'd better get back to work. I didn't realize it's been so long since I checked in with you. Been busy as a one armed paper hanger! Had auditors here last week. Just getting ready for them was a nightmare! Glad it's done.

Have a great week.

Sorry beb! You really get those pesky errors don't ya?! And they make your day so much better right!

What a week this past week has been. Got suckered, yes, suckered, into watching yet another 2 1/2 yr old boy, not all the time tho. Put my foot down on that one. I let everyone know today was the last day for that kid. If the folks can't be bothered to give him his nebulizer before he comes, which they have plenty of time to do so, and after they get home, well, they aren't very good parents I'd say. Sick as a dog kid, on antibiotics no less, coughing up a storm on everyone, putting the toys in his mouth & then the rest play with them.....enough. Have the courtesy to keep him home until he's not contageous anymore for cripes sake. It was all I could do to not chew her butt off for all of that. And a brat on top of it all. Thank the parents for all of that. They're going to have their hands full once he's older, for sure. Oh, and the nebulizer deal, I don't mind any of that...but when he fights the whole process & I pretty much have to hold him down to get him to complete it, forget it. It's mama's problem, not mine. Ugh.

It's been a long ass day, sorry to say!!

Jenjs, what a day from hell you had. I don't blame you for putting your foot down. Again, like harley said, I couldn't do it myself. It's a lot of work and a major responsibility.

harley, Brazil! Might be interesting, but for a month. I don't know how I'd like being gone for a month. Thanks for the heads-up though. If you don't stop in for awhile at least we'll know why.

Busy again today but I decided to check in quickly. Glad I did.

Brazil! Wow! Sounds like sooo much more fun than what I had yesterday ;)! I do love watching the kids, but like I said before.....if the parents are pretty crappy, the kid is gonna be just as bad. You know what I think is funny about the kid from hell? His dad is a cop! And mom works at the grade school! HA! You'd think the parents would be a bit more on top of things wouldn't ya?

Harley, before I forget, do you ever talk to the Germans you had to train? You can never forget a German, right?

Did either of you see on the news of a little girl that was missing in Nebraska & then found murdered last week? She was 8, anyways, my cousin lives just like 10 mi. away from where she was & the small town where she was from is tiny, like a few hundred is all. Sad. They think the stepdad is the one who killed her. All I can think of is why?

Jenjs, I did see the story on the 8 yr old girl. How horrible. Why? My first thought is sexual abuse. My next thought is drugs and/or alcohol. That changes the temperment.

Harley, when I think of Brazil I think of bright colors (kind of like Mexico), beautiful/colorful flowers, dancing, bright/colorful birds, fishing too I think. I'm probably way off on all of that too. Enjoy it. Your husband's a funny guy. I'm sure he'd pay to get you back. How neat that you'll get to see one of the German boys. So when do you leave?

Beautiful here again today. It's great weather for walking outside. My dog will just love it.

Friday's are short days. I have about an hour to go. Just finished lunch - pb sandwich and a banana.

Have a great weekend.

TGIF!!! I tell ya, I am sooo glad it finally came! Been a long week for sure.

For the life of me I can't understand why some people would want to intentionally hurt little kids, especially if they're married & end up hurting their children. Like that would make them closer? Would love to hear that explanation there. I'm sure drugs have a lot to do with it. Nebraska has a lot of meth, not that no where else does but small towns like that it can get real bad. Sorry excuse. They say she was sexually molested also. Makes me hope someone does the same to him in prison. People like that I could easily hurt intentionally, just like they did.

Harley, I do hope that we can hear back good stories from you....we had better hear from you too! I could only dream of ever going to a place like that, but I really don't know if I'd be comfortable being there, know what I mean? I'd be freaking out over if I'd be getting something from the water, etc. So I'd end up drinking things I shouldn't since I wouldn't trust the water! But I do agree with beb on your hubby, he sounds hilarious. Too bad he can't join you....or would he want to?

It'd be gorgeous here if the damn wind wasn't blowing! I swear it followed us here, I really think it did.

Earlier this week I went to the drs, my eyes were screwing up again, allergies. Not quite as bad this time, have some other drops to use, but I had some bloodwork done for thyroid. Hopefully the results will be back early next week & I'll have some answers. I'm thinking it's messing up because I have no idea why I've been so tired & my hair is so gawd awfully dry & my fingers & toes are so cold all the time. I hope I can find out.

Hope y'all have a great weekend! Good weather all around perhaps?

Well, you'll have to let us know when you're about to take off for the great unknown harley! I've never had a passport, doubt I ever would. But I would love to see where my grandparents all came from & hubby, sometime, someday.

Course, the drs office called back & said the bloodwork is all normal. Wish to hell I knew then why my hair is thinning so bad & dry & I'm so cold fingered & feet all the time. Who knows! How did you feel before you started taking meds for your thyroid harley?

This weekend was absolutely beautiful out. I've been hearing stories tho that starting this weekend, or right after, it's going to be getting cold & yucky out. I'm not sure what's going on where, but there must be a huge fire somewhere because I can smell smoke big time & can just see the haze all over. I'm wanting fresh air tho, not this smoky crap!!

Last week was only 1 day tops. I swear it wasn't 7. What a nightmare. It was a week of meetings. Worked one day in St. Louis, and that was a long day. Friday I had computer problems and ended up on the phone for over 2 hours. Whew. The best thing about it is in the past!

So this morning I had a flat tire. Thank goodness my GS was able to put the little donut thingy on it. He followed me to the garage, and then he went to work. Whew. Great start to a week. And Thursday I have an MD appoint. I had bloodwork last Friday.

It's been warmer here, but absolutely gorgeous. The evenings are cooler. It's beautiful. I think it's suppose to cool down mid-week. I'm ready. My GS' b-day is a week from today. He's having some friends over for a bonfire Saturday night. Several of them have formed a dance team 'G Team' for a church they belong to. They're bringing a dance floor and black lights to 'perform.' I'm glad my daughter's off that night. She's in charge! Actually they've always been good when they've been at the house. We're keeping it simple. It's outdoors. Roast hot dogs, baked beans, smores, brownies. Doesn't get easier. As far as I know none of them drink. That's a switch too. At least they haven't at my house. I was trained by the best to detect that by own kids! I can smell it a mile away. It'll be fun. I'll sit and 'watch' from the sunroom.

Have a great week.

Sorry such a rough week beb! And a lousy way to start one too. It's rainy & dreary here, I'm afraid we're finished with our nice warm weather now til next May, bummer. Was nice to see it while it was here! Had a heavy frost the other nite so now the leaves will definitely all fall, no more colors, ugh.

I go to the drs here in an hr, my eyes are still not working up to par. I'm going to have them give me a referral to a specialist in minot, hopefully someone may know what's going on, why they keep getting worse. I'm going to have her check my blood sugar tho today, there's no reason for my eyes to be screwing up as often as they do, plus I drink like a fish out of water. We'll see. If my thyroid is normal, there's something going on, something is off, it just feels wrong. Hope all your bloodwork comes back ok beb.

Good luck with the eye exam, jenjs. Let us know how that turns out.

Frost already? Wow. Of course, it's cooling off here too. It's been raining this AM. And cooler weather is moving in.

Bloodwork is fine. I had a phone call from the nurse about it. Now tomorrow it's off to see the MD. Yesterday was the mammogram. Life is fun; huh?

harley, it is fun for you. A pregnant goat - you have the most wonderful things to deal with. I'd love to see all the critters like that. Lots and lots of work too though.

200 tulips. How beautiful your place will look in the spring. Color everywhere.

Enjoy your week off. You'll be fine going. The month will fly by too. Time has a way of doing that.

Work waits for me here. So have a terrific Hump Day.

Well, dr seems to think it's all allergies too. I'm not so sure on that! Still pretty blurry & I know the vision's changed since July, again. Doesn't make sense. I'm keeping track definitely. She thinks once it all freezes over it should be back to normal. With all the rain we had this spring the pollen was worse than ever she said, so, time will tell.

I did my mammo in July, I had em check blood sugar too & it was ok, so no diabetes there. I dunno anymore, I give up trying to figure stuff out!!

Harley....I'm a go with the instincts kind of gal, so I really can't give any advice on how you're tossing back & forth!! But if it's stronger one way than the other, well, I'd think it over. There were plenty of times I wish I listened to my instincts & I sure as hell ended up paying for it & not in a good way! The older I get the more I listen, definitely.

I need to be planting more stuff like that too, pretty flowers & whatnot. But I know if I did I'd have heck to pay from hubs because I didn't bother asking first, which is hard because he's never home since he's either 1. working; 2. being commissioner; 3. on the water board for the city 15 mi away from us; 4. being mr. police reserve officer. So, at home? Hardly ever. I'm sure you can hear the sarcasm in my writing! Honestly, I'm glad he's found things that keeps him occupied & that he does enjoy (what man doesn't like shooting a gun anyway). But he hasn't figured out how to space it all apart & refuses to listen to me. Oh well. He'll find out the hard way, when something happens to him.

One more day before the end of the week! Come on Friday!!

And here we are at Wednesday. harley, this vacation week for you. Hope you're enjoying it. It's raining here. Been raining since Monday night. We desperately needed the rain though.

jenjs, glad your check ups are OK. I wonder about the allergies. It could be. They do strange things to the body. Glad you're tracking things though.

The b-day party is over, and the b-day is over. Whew! There were about 15 kids I guess, which is a good #. Otherwise, there's problems parking, a jerk neighbor at the corner of the street who just looks for trouble and complains non-stop, and you can't see what's going on. So it was perfect. They had a ball. Music going - loud - danced, played baseball, ate. It was a good bunch of kids and they had fun. The little GD had a ball too, but they're all used to her.

Such a darn gloomy day. I'm still losing weight, little by little. I get so frustrated sometimes because I'll stay the same, then gain 1/2#, then 3/4# and so forth. But when I sit back and analyze the whole situation I've made a lot of progress and made so many changes. More importantly I feel good. So that's what it's all about. I don't exercise as much as I should though.

Better get on with work. Hope you both have a great day and a great rest of the week. harley, I hope you have a safe/fast trip.
