for years now my husband and my Cholesterol has been hight. I have cut out cooking beef. Once in a wile ill let him bbq a stake he loves stake. We have not cooke a burger in this house in 4 years. We love burgers. We will treat ourself and get a burger out at one of those fat eating places. I have been seeing that ground beef is a lot leaner then it use to be...it takes me a wile to relise things. So Iam looking at the home page of foodfit and they have a burger recipe. Looking at it looks prutty good. So for this weekend I think we are having burgers and Ill make a sald with my weat noodles that I havent tryed yet.

Ok milk, seeing the new milk prmotions 24oz in 24hrs will help with my weight loss. Well Im using fat free milk and drinking more of it then I use too. Now having milk with dinner insted of a beer[:O] or water and it sure tase good.

these things, but small are on my mind.

I know no foods are bad but some I have been staying away from and so tired of staying away because Iam not loosing and my cholesterol still stays High

Well, I am glad that you can have a burger again.

I have never been a big fan of red meat. I will eat it on occasion, but it is not something that I consider a favorite food by any means. However - when I do buy it (usually when I mix with ground turkey for my meatloaf which I rarely make or for burgers for the hubby), I ALWAYS buy the 95% lean kind. My grocery store has 95%, 90% and 85% lean - and you can totally see the difference (mostly in color) between the 3.

Studies have shown that meat does not "soak up" the fat it is cooked in, so draining and even rinsing cooked beef is a good practice (for example, cook ground beef, drain and rinse before adding to spaghetti sauce). Grilling or broiling on a rack is another good way to reduce the fat.

As you know, it's all about PORTION control! Measure and weigh everything.

You know you cannot completely cut out those foods.... so have a little of it and PILE THE REST OF YOUR PLATE with other healthy foods like fresh veggies and grains!

BTW - tonight is TACO NIGHT at my house! I chop mushrooms and saute' in a skillet, then add taco seasoning. I wash & chop tomato, onion & lettuce and serve them in bowls along with FF/lite sour cream, grated cheese, vegitarian refried beans, salsa and guacamole!! YUUUMMMMMM [^^]

2x4 was here, but now she's gone. She left this post to carry on...

2x4 - I do that too. How funny that you would know about that if you don't even eat meat. You are so wise. I always rinse my meat with HOT water so it gets most of the grease off of it (I wish my mother would do that - her lasagna is so GREASY - yuk).
