WTH?? I had replied last week & I look back today & nothin! I don't get it!! Now I don't even remember what it was that I had replied, sheesh.

Yup, tomorrow & Weds they call for 95 & higher, so kiddo will be in for some loooong days. The teachers aren't going to be too happy! I just don't understand why, for starters, with all of this oil money coming in, they just don't build new schools for all of the kids coming in. Schools that are better equipped for year-round habitat especially, when school starts before fall comes in & cooler weahter won't be seen for another good month yet. I really don't get the backwards thinking around here. They really do drive me nuts!!

Case in point: They have 2 major roads that are being repaved. They have yet to finish the jobs. But they stop the 2 jobs to make repair work on odd places around town that can happen well after the 2 major jobs have finished?? And the 2 roads are still closed so they can't be fully used but everyone is expected to just accept it anyways? It is sooo irritating! Believe me, I whine about all of this to my hubs, one of the COMMISSIONERS, but it goes in 1 ear & out the other since I'm just the nagging wife ;). But my one little girl's mom is the city assessor, so I do crab to her & she's just as irritated as I am. It's just frustrating!!

Hope you had a good weekend anyways...

Wonder what happened to your 'lost post.' Frustrating.

The issue with the roads - it's a bunch of men making the decisions and doing the planning. They think women don't know squat. I readily admit I don't know 'squat' about repaving/repair work on the roads. However, I would be much better at planning it than a male. I watched what went on right here, downtown, right outside my office. It was a nightmare!

The triple digits are, hopefully, in the past. It's still warm but no comparison to what we suffered through. The pool was taken down yesterday that was in the backyard. I know it had to happen, but I sure got a lot of enjoyment out of it. The reason it's down is we have severe t-storms predicted beginning tomorrow evening throughout the weekend due to Isaac. We may or may not get them, but it's easier to take it down with dry ground, and not overflowing with rainwater and leaves/sticks/branches. Less risk of a stick/branch falling on it too. So for this year - it's over. Glad I didn't give up my gym membership.

Lost 1.7# last week. I am on a roll. I started back on SouthBeach diet as of Sunday. You know I really feel good on that diet.

Have a great holiday weekend.

Harley, how are things in your neck of the woods?

Here I am. I can't believe it's been 12 days since I posted. Where did all those days go?

We've had rain, lots of rain. Tornado warnings with sirens going off. T-storms. But it's cooler now. Beautiful weather for right now at least.

Wonder where harley's been too - unless she's posted and her post disappeared too. I thought I had posted since 8/30. I can't swear to it though. The days tend to run together at times. It just gets busy.

How are your little ones doing? How's your son enjoying school this year? I think you said he is playing football. Tis the season.

Soon it will be time to think about pumpkins, Halloween and the time of year I love the best. I'm not happy with the darkness part of it, but I love the fall and the fall holidays.

2 months from today I leave for Israel. I am so darned excited.

Hope everything is well with both of you!

Well, like I said before, I think there's a spook in this here site, so you may have very well posted earlier than you thought & it didn't go thru! I swear, it's there!!!

Next week I get the devil kid & her little baby sister back. Excited for the baby, not so much for the little devil! We'll see how much she's changed with the new addition, if it's better or worse. I'm guessing maybe a little worse. Plus I'll have another small one in March too! Awesome! But it's fun, love having babies around. It actually makes the older ones behave better, for me it does anyways. When they get home it may not but who knows.

Kiddo was doing football, but his migraines were coming on too much so I stopped it for this year. I don't want to take any chances when it comes to the brain. They aren't replacable. Next year he can try again, maybe it'll be better. He's ok with it for now. Too bad if not! It actually was his idea not to play before I said something about it.

Hey, I can live with the less sun, as long as I can have the darkness to sleep! Man I hate that still light stuff at 10 pm crap. I'm for the dark by 8! We were in the high 80s yesterday but today it's not even 70, so fall is back. I'm glad!

SO....your trip, is it a 2 or 3 week trip? Be back for Thanksgiving? Or just after? Sounds like such fun!

It's grey and raining here today. Typical fall day, light/gentle rain. I do love it.

I wouldn't like it light until 10 either. We never have that though. Even in the summer by 7:30 or so it's dusk. Dark by 8. I like it dark when I sleep too.

You'll have your hands full with all those babies, but you do seem to love it so.

Sorry about your son's migraines. You're right. Protect the brain. Head injuries are so serious and so likely in those contact sports. He must realize it too. Practice alone in foot is tough. My son played. So I know.

My trip is from Nov. 11 - 20. That's the week of T-giving. I'm excited. Less than 2 months now. I'm losing weight little by little. Been exercising more. The tours always involve a lot of walking, which is fine. But you have to be prepared for it and these are on those old, cobblestone or brick streets. At least the last tours - Germany, Budapest, Hungary were and when I went to Italy it was. So I'm gearing up for it. Next month I'll make a list of things I need to pack. If not, I'll forget something for sure.

Have a great weekend.

Today is bright sunny & 75.....but it is getting cool. The heat is now officially on at night. It's dippin into the 30s now, so time to close the windows pretty much at night, bummer!

The 1st baby starts coming on Thursday! Course the little devil has to come along with, so that's the downfall to that but hopefully all will go well. The other tiny baby will be in either March or April. Everyone thinks I'm nuts, but it's so hard to get daycare for tiny ones, it was everywhere I ever worked anyways. And then I had 5 babies in my room! So I'm set, plus I'll have 2 older helpers, so it's all good.

I'm excited for your trip! I'd love to do all the walking on those old streets, that'd be such fun. Some day I'd love to go to Germany, find where my grandparents came from & the Isle of Man. Some day.

So the baby came today. Hopefully the 'little devil' has changed and become at least a little less devilish. Fingers are crossed!

It's been beautiful here. 70's during the day, 50's/40's at night. Monday it was upper 30's and I was in heaven. This is my time of year, my kind of weather.

I am excited for my trip. I watch the news carefully though. There's always war/unrest in that corner of the world. However, my bosses have family living there and watch very closely. I won't be going if there's any threat of serious problems while I'm there. I am anxious to go. I loved Germany last year - that and Budapest, Austria. Oh, those Alps. There are something I will always remember. Would never be able to go on another overseas trip - or any lengthy trip - this year if it wasn't being paid for by someone else. I'm German too. My dad's mother's parents came here from Germany. I'm not sure of the area any longer. His dad's parents were from Ireland - again, not sure of the exact area. Shame on me for not getting it all on paper BEFORE I lost all of them. Mom's family was from here in the states - KY. She always told me they were English too. Again - shame on me. If I could turn back time . . .

I'm off tomorrow. So I'll have a 3-day weekend. Looking forward to it.

Have a great weekend. Harley, stop in and let us know how you're doing.

Day 1: over. How'd it go? Well, luckily the 2 sisters left early. Baby was an angel. Older sis, no. Still little devil, sorry to say. She ended up getting in trouble quite a few times, already on the 1st day back. Pretty bad. Oh well! Gotta learn sooner than later. I'd told her mom one of the rules she has to follow since she's getting bigger, she doesn't fit in the booster seat anymore so if she decides it's too important to eat & she wants to get up & mess around.....she doesn't finish eating. Too bad. I take away whatever food she had & it goes in the trash. She can pout & whine & do all that she wants, but with me it won't make any difference. I didn't make her the spoiled little brat, that was mom & dad. But the baby was a hoot to have, really an angel to have around.

I hope your weekend is a good one. Harley had better check in soon, yes. I figured that she's probably busy with fall comin in, they're probably getting ready for harvesting & all kinds of stuff with animals preppin for winter. Too much to get ready for on a farm.

Well, I hope that things don't get too bad overseas that it makes it so you aren't able to go. That would be such a huge bummer!! But it all sounds so exciting & fun. I wouldn't feel too bad on exactly where family comes from. My grampa was born in Prussia & they went to Germany then & we have no idea where at, and I'm not exactly sure where mom's mom was born & of course they're both long gone. I'm only sure of where dad's mom came from & that's where I'd love to really see some day.

Hi guys glad you both are ok the trip sounds just great sure is fun to see new places.I have been off work for a little while been really down.Got to work a while back and had an e-mail from Brazil said sorry to inform you that your friend and slice oper. was killed in a car accident, end of message.I spent the next 2 days crying and could not pull it together so took some time away from everything that made me think about him.He was 22 and had his whole life ahead of him,was so much fun and wanted to learn so he could have a better life, part of me wishes I had never went over there but then I would never have gotten to know him.One of the girls sent pictures of him and I together that I did not even know she had took he was all smiles and giving me a big hug.I will miss him for a long time.Don't want to go back will not be the same without him.I go back to work monday so wish me luck.

It has been really pretty here this week got the bike out and went for a ride almost everyday trying to just get lost in the sound of the bike and all the different smells that this time of year have will have a vacation in the middle of Oct. so hope I feel much better by then.

My best friend at work finished her last cancer treatment last week so far so good for her.Other friend at work his wife has been going for her treatments for 3 week now with everything going on with all of them and the death in brazil the usually strong and everything will be ok me got lost hope I am on the mend. For two people that I may never meet it is still nice to know that I can spill my guts to you when it is really hard for me to let the ones that are close and love me know how crappy I really feel thank you for being here.Take care you both are very special people and I wish you all the best for many years.

Harley! So glad to have seen you pop in with us!!! We've missed you!! But so sorry to have heard about your buddy. It doesn't matter how long one knows someone in your life, if they make an impact, it hurts, no matter what. Time is of no importance in that instance. I've lost a few people like that & when it happens it happens. Tears are shed, the loss is still as deep as it would be for someone you've known your entire life. It was still someone that was a part of your life. It matters. I'm sorry that you have to have a part of it taken away. It never is easy, ever.

I hope that your ride was a good one, fun, the smells, the sights. I wish hubs still had his. I miss being able to go for rides every now & then. Up here in ND it'd be few & far between tho!!! Specially now since he's so busy with work & police crap anymore, he'd never go. Good thing he doesn't have it I guess. Hopefully by mid-Oct you'll be a bit more perky so you can enjoy your vacation, you deserve a joyful one. I hope your kneww is doing better!!!!

I totally agree with jenjs. The length of time you've known someone doesn't matter at all. Sometimes we meet someone (as you did) and there is a special bond. He made an impact on your life by just spending that short amount of time with him. If he impacted your life, maybe you can find comfort in knowing that surely you impacted his life two. You were meant to meet and become friends. Ah, but so sad a loss. So young. I know what you mean. His whole life was still ahead of him.

Sorry about your freind at work and the other friend's wife undergoing cancer treatments. Life can certainly deal us some rough blows.

Jenjs, so the little devil is consistent. She remains a little devil. It's really sad for her. Her parents aren't laying down any rules. I cannot understand that as we have rules to follow throughout our lives. They are doing her an injustice. At least you have the little one who's a doll

harley, I hope your return to work on Monday went well for you. I'm glad you were able to take some time off. Hopefully next month when you take some vacation time you'll enjoy a more relaxed time. Fall is such a beautiful time of year - at least I feel that way. I love the crisp, cool air. I love the gorgeous oranges/yellows/reds/golds of the leaves.

Been busy here. That's good. But it is tiring too. We're into Jewish holidays right now. Rosh Hashanah is over, as well as Yom Kippur. Sunday at sundown begins Sukkot holidays. So Mon/Tues next week and the following week the 'bosses' will be off. I work at a different pace then and still accomplish a lot. It's a nice break, but it's also nice to get rid of the crap around here. They're my 'pitchin and ditchin' days.

Have a great weekend. Feel better, harley. I feel the same way you do. The 2 of you are very special.

Ok, this thing is really driving me crazy, or I'm just losing my marbles. Or the kiddies or making me lose them, one of the 2. I swear I replied to ya beb on friday, I swear. Something's up here!

Oh most definitely, the little devil is still very much so, little sis even was one today. But she's kinda sick so it's not her fault on that part. It's all sis' fault for being a little turd tho! Maybe with her going to preschool 3 times a week she may have to learn it's not all aboout her?? I can hope!! And starting tomorrow I'll have my other every-now-n-then-year old all the time til mid December, that's when her mama's due. Yup, another new baby!!! Soooo....I'll have 4 of 'em around the house! Whew. Weekends won't come soon enough, only cuz of the devil....

Yesterday was an absolute bee-oot-i-ful day, followed by rain in the eve. I loved it! I love the sound of rain at night. Makes for real good sleepin. It was a super warm weekend, hopefully y'all had a great one too. We're forecasted for some *ahem* white stuff to fall on Weds, not to accumulate tho, mixed with rain probably. just as long as it doesn't on the 18th, that's when we go to Minot for kiddo to take his drivers test. I want it dry for him!! Cripes....cross fingers!

Another baby . . . better you than me. I love them, but I just don't have it in me anymore to keep them all the time. Hopefully preschool will settle the one kid down a bit.

Wonder what happened to your post from Friday. I wondered what happened to one of mine a week or so ago. I 'knew' I replied. That's crazy.

The white stuff?? Already??? Oh, boy, I don't envy you that at all. It's going to be in the 30's here over the weekend. That's a little early for here too, but they aren't talking that white stuff. I'm not ready for it at all. But then I'm sure you aren't either.

So it's time for the old driver's test. He must be so excited. I remember when it was my kids. They were ecstatic. Good luck and I hope it's a dry day/drive.

In case I don't get back in here. Have a great weekend.

Well this site is really starting to drive me a bit batty...it's not even halloween yet! ;)

We didn't get the white stuff, yippee! I hope it takes another month before we do, if not til December. But I have a feeling I'm asking a bit much. It's only 36 out tho, brrr! May see the 50s this weekend, which would be good since I wanted to do the yard 1 more time before winter really, sheesh. Still have to cover the a/c too. Need to order the kid a new winter coat also. Man he needs to quit growing!! I told him he should wear his warm coat today since it's so cool out & he went to try it on & the sleeves are too short already. I just got it last year! Time for him to get that other job....

One thing's for sure, with all the little ones, it makes for some pretty good sleepin! I have no problen getting to sleep, at all. It's just staying asleep that kicks my butt. I seem to wake at every little noise or light or anything. Drives me nuts.

Keep warm!!

Brrrr is right. We had frost this morning. For here, it's a bit early actually. Glad you didn't get that old white stuff.

So your guy is growing. It gets darned expensive; doesn't it? Buying a coat every year sure gets costly. I was shopping a couple of weeks ago and my grandson was with me. He said he needed a new pair of shoes. I told him - sure. We can get that today. No need to wait and get money from your mom. Stupid me!! His foot grew. He went from a size 14 to a 15. He's a big kid. The last time we measured him he was 6'6" and I swear he's gotten taller too. He weighs around 220. We're talking a big boy - no, young man. He's 19 now. How did that happen? My grandson - grandson!! - is 19 years old. I'm old.

I'm so excited I got all of my tour information in the mail Saturday. I have my flights, hotels - which are gorgeous - we're staying at one in Tiberias for a few nights that's right on the Sea of Galilea. Can't wait. One month and 3 days , counting , counting, counting.

Hey, harley, please check in with us. Your friends worry about you!

How exciting!!! Oh I'd be having a hard time concentrating on anything then if I had all the info staring me right in the face! Wow, oh how fun. I hope things stay peaceful so you all are able to go & have a wonderful time.

Oh, I know only too well how fast they grow. And he sounds huge! I know a few guys like that I grew up with, way over 6' tall, they played football in college. Soon he won't be growin taller, but more out. He won't like that! I figure that I have about maybe 5 more yrs or so of this still, yikes. These little girls are like that too, I've seen how they've shot up too thru this summer, holy crap what's in the water around here? Not only do things grow like weeds but seems like everybody gets pregnant!

Hopefully harley is just busy busy since it's fall plus she was going to be on vacation here soon & doesn't have time to check in. But hopefully soon she can say hi.

We did get a few snow flurries yesterday, they call for a few more today. That's ok, it's not to where it'll accumulate yet. By this weekend it may be in the 60s again which is hunky dory with me. By next Thurs when we go for kiddo's test it's supposed to stay in the 50s so yay! I'm still keepin my fingers crossed...

Driver's license. I remember.

The weather's been chilly here. It's cooler than normal for this time of year. We haven't had the warmer days we usually have. I'm not complaining. I love it cool, but it's odd at the same time.

Halloween in 3 weeks. Then before you know it T-giving and the beat goes on. I haven't done a thing as far as presents go. I realize it's early, but I usually have something. This year - nothing. It's hard to come up with the money all at once. Oh, well . . . the holidays will come whether I'm ready or not.

Hope harley's knees aren't still giving her fits. That's my concern. Of course, they're probably getting ready for winter too with all those animals - chicken, cattle, etc.

Have a great weekend.

Today is a gorgeous day out, it's 68 right now. Just have some wind, which seems to have followed us here from Wy of course. Everyone says it usually isn't so windy, so I know it came with us! But I know this warmth won't last for long. I'll have the girls play outside for awhile after nap.

I do have a couple things bought for the older kiddo, otherwise not much else. I only do his earlier since I have to pack it up & send it off. Plus bake a few goodies too & put em in the box.

I was wondering about harley's knees. I hope they're doin better. She never did say anything really about em that I remember did she. She did say something about riding & not being too sure about holdin up with em.

Hope your Monday is good!!

Rain. Lots of rain is heading my way and a 'cold wave.' It's been a very nice fall so far, which surprises me but delights me. Love it!

I want to make more this year too. I think my GD will really enjoy it this year. She's 6 now. Perfect time to bake for Christmas. It's fun.

I think harley has had some problems with the knees. Still pain, etc. I 'think' that's what she said. I'd have to weed through the posts to find out for sure. I sure hope they're OK.

I had a plumber at the house from 6:45 - 12:15 AM last night. Started with a stopped up kitchen sink and progressed to the line that went from that sink to the basement/sewer line. Nightmarish! Expensive, but not nearly as bad as I feared. I'm exhausted today though. I went to bed around 1:30. Woke up at 4:30. Hopped up - yep, I really did hop up - got in the shower and then lounged in the recliner for over an hour. I was so afraid of not waking up in time for work. I've never done that before, but there's always a first time. Wouldn't be a big deal. I could have called this morning and said 'I'm running late. I'll be there at 10 or whatever.' However, I had meetings this morning. Wouldn't you know it! Well, we're 'draining' beautifully now and all is well.

Today is my GS' b-day. He's 20. How did I ever get this old? Beyond me.

I leave in 25 days!!
