Question:
How long does it take after you have begun a diet for the results to show?
Erin, OH |
Christine Palumbo
Answer:
Weight loss varies between individuals due to age, size and gender differences, as well as differences in metabolism and exercise programs. Generally, those who are younger, larger and male show weight loss sooner than those older, smaller and female. People with a slower metabolism naturally lose weight more slowly. People who engage in vigorous exercise programs about five days a week will show loss faster than those who exercise less (or not at all!). Remember, weight training may add poundage in the form of muscle, but may cause you to lose inches. A general time frame for noticeable weight loss is a couple of weeks.
