Firm fruit that yields to slight pressure. Color varies according to variety from pale green/yellow to almost black. Sweet aroma.

Easy Storage and Preparation
Will keep at room temperature for a few days, or longer in the refrigerator. Skin, seeds, and flesh are edible.

Best Uses
Raw (best at room temperature): good with cheese, green salads, and ham.
Cooked: tarts. Good with strong meats.
