Grilling Menu

It’s high season for grilling, and that means your firehouse meals can boast the great, traditional tastes of summer—without the calories, fat and cholesterol you want to avoid. With these healthy dishes, you can grill away and know that you are getting good food that’s good for you, too.

These Classic Burgers with Red Onion and Horseradish are just what you’ve been craving—a tender, melt-in-your-mouth burger that satisfies your taste buds as well as your healthy diet. Too many burgers lately? For something different on the grill, try Grilled Rosemary Flank Steak. You can cook it and slice it up in no time.

On the side, Marinated Coleslaw is a great summer treat. The tang and crunch of this classic is always the perfect companion to savory burgers and other grilled fare.

Corn on the cob is requisite barbecue food, and we have one heck of a way to enjoy it. Grilled Corn on the Cob with Chipotle and Lime Juice is sensational with its citrusy pucker blended with the fire of chipotle pepper oil. If you like your corn on the more traditional side, just grill for about eight minutes, lightly salt, and get ready to dig in.

For an extra treat, try Potato Chips without Hips, made with a “bake-fried” technique. They are super crunchy without the fat and calories of regular chips.

Then grab a bowlful of luscious blueberries for a delicious end to a classic summer meal.
