Help raise money for the Fire Fighters Burn Foundation by participating in the Marine Corps Marathon on October 30, 2005. As a charity partner in the 2005 Marine Corps Marathon, the IAFF has secured 100 slots for the 26.2-mile race.
Applications must be received by the IAFF Burn Foundation, along with a fee of $85, no later than August 5, 2005. Slots will be filled on a first-come basis. Runners accepted for the Fire Fighters Marathon Team are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 each to benefit the IAFF Burn Foundation.
In addition, this is a great opportunity for runners participating on the Fire Fighters Marathon Team to meet IAFF members from across the United States and Canada. Team members will also receive a Burn Foundation T-shirt and capilene running singlet and admission to the Marine Corps Marathon pasty party on the eve of the marathon.
Last year, fire fighters and supporters raised more than $40,000 for the IAFF charity. More than 40 IAFF members from across the United States and Canada completed the 26.2-mile course. The fastest male time for the IAFF team came from Robert Kuhn from Strongsville, OH Local 2882, who crossed the finish line in 3:08:28. The fastest female time, from Linda Cohen-Brookhart of Davenport, IA Local 17, was 4:01:27.
