Recipe Makeover: Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff
[get this recipe]

Bonnie Moore, executive chef for FoodFit.com, a website that focuses on healthy eating and active living, used her cooking ingenuity to remake an old favorite so that it is more healthy but still tastes great.

  • Substituted a leaner cut of beef (cuts cooking time by more than half!)
  • Substituted non fat sour cream for regular sour cream.
  • Replaced higher sodium tomato soup with chopped fresh tomatoes.
  • Replaced higher sodium canned mushrooms with more fresh mushrooms.
  • Served the stroganoff with noodles.
