Tomato Basil Sauce

This recipe serves: 
Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 medium onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
4 tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup water, or red wine
4 tablespoons chopped, fresh basil
freshly ground black pepper
Cooking Instructions
1. In a saucepan or stock pot over medium heat, sauté the onion in the oil until golden, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and tomatoes and simmer about 5 minutes. Add the water and simmer 5 more minutes. Add the basil and simmer 1 minute longer.

2. Place all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend to chunky, about 5 seconds. Taste and season with pepper.
