Balsamic Strawberries with Strawberry Sorbet

This recipe serves:
2/3 quart fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
grinding of fresh black pepper (optional)
Cooking Instructions
1. Slice the strawberries in half if they are large or keep whole if they are small. Place in a bowl.

2. Heat a small pan over medium heat and add the vinegar. Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes until the vinegar is reduced to a thick syrup.

3. Just before serving, ladle the syrup over the strawberries and gently toss to coat them. If desired, sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper for a spicy addition.

4. Serve with a scoop of strawberry sorbet.

Serving Size: 3/4 cup strawberries with a scoop sorbet
