I made it a few days ahead of time and let it sit in the refrigerator. I also brined my chicken and dried it ahead of time. I cooked the chicken on the grill, then added the BBQ sauce at the end to create a crust. I did add some personal touches to the sauce - some ginger, dry mustard, molasses. It's fantastic!
